Tampa area housing sales jump 21 percent from last year

Statewide, the median sale price was $176,000, a 3.5 percent increase over the previous year.

“Florida’s housing market hit a milestone in November. For three years now — 36 months in a row — statewide median sales prices rose year over year for both single family and townhouse-condo properties,” said 2014 Florida Realtors President Sherri Meadows.


Foreign buyers taking over — this time it’s Canadians in Florida

Lured mostly by cheap prices, Canadians spent $2.2-billion on Florida real estate last year, easily making them the Sunshine State’s No. 1 international buyer of real estate. Canadians — most of them paying cash — were behind 31.6% of all international transactions, according to a report Tuesday by the National Association of Realtors for Florida.

Florida’s Housing Market Is On the Rise

More good news has surfaced in the housing market, this time in Florida. According to Florida Realtors, the housing market reported higher median prices, more new listings, and a stable level of inventory in March. Closed sales of single-family homes statewide totaled 20,081 last month, up 2.8 percent from March last year.

Florida foreclosures expected to cool down in 2014

Residential foreclosures dating from the recession might be coming to an end this year in Florida. Deerfield Beach foreclosure defense firm Ticktin Law Group, for example, said it has seen a decline in mortgage foreclosure defense cases.
